Today And Yesteryear, Beirut | 75
INSIGHT | While Downtown Beirut was still undergoing extensive reconstruction, the old Grand-Theatre site was hidden with extra-large and quite dull protective panels. Soon an artist gave life to the boring view with this beautiful painting depicting a certain Beirut back in time, full of nostalgia. What really made me take this shot was those scooters parked on the sidewalk, right in front of the artwork already ruined by splashes of wet concrete, and right in front of the painted bicycle, which I felt strongly stressed the then-and-now concept.
